This is NeoCon

In today’s culture designers are continuously seeking groundbreaking and innovative designs that are both creative and not only make daily life easier but also more interesting. At NeoCon, designers think big and are presented with a three day venture of over 700 show rooms, filled with product ideas bound to inspire.

The National Exposition of Contract Furnishings, or NeoCon, was first held in 1969 at The Merchandise Mart in Chicago, Illinois. Since then the trade show has grown so large that the event has broken off into three separate divisions. One held in Chicago, one in Baltimore and another in Canada.

NeoCon is the largest and most extensive interior design exposition in the United States for both residential and commercial interiors. The trade show features nearly 40,000 design professionals and just over 100 accredited CEU seminars given by key figures in the design industry. The event also displays the products of well-known manufactures, private lines, and luxury lines in design, allowing all to be showcased internationally.

For several designers, NeoCon is an event that not only previews innovations to come with what is already available, but also allows for one to immerse themselves in design trends from areas around the nation. Over 300 exhibitors were at the 2012 NeoCon in Chicago, showcasing both current and new levels of design.

A glimpse into NeoCon and of these emerging trends can be viewed here as can a selective list of outstanding exhibitors.
