Heart-pounding, edge of your seat action is all you need for a perfect movie night. The top five films in this section will keep you positively riveted for hours to come. Of course, you don’t take my word for it. Check out these flicks and get the popcorn ready.

Big Trouble in Little China (1986):

I'll admit it, I've got a soft spot for 80's films. Kurt Russell is the star of the action playing Jack Burton, a rough and tumble truck driver with some bad luck. While stopping in Chinatown he accidentally gets involved in an otherworldly conflict. In an effort to rescue a damsel in distress, Jack must battle an evil sorcerer and navigate his way through the more magical (and dangerous) parts of little China. If you're a fan of flicks like Labyrinth and The NeverEnding Story then this one is for you.

King Arthur (2004):

Experience the movie based on the age-old story that you and I probably know so well. In this version, King Arthur (Clive Owen) is a calvary officer in the Roman army defending Hadrian's Wall. After being sent on a dangerous mission, Arthur encounters the lovely Guinevere (Keira Knightley). In an effort to avoid the invading Saxon army, Guinevere makes a pact to ensure her safety. History and action lovers alike will find themselves quickly drawn in to the world of Arthur.

Double Jeopardy (1999):

On the surface, Libby (Ashley Judd) and her husband (Bruce Greenwood) have it all. After his disappearance, she is unfairly framed for murder and sent away. While in prison she learns of a legal loophole called double jeopardy, where she cannot be re-prosecuted if she finds her husband alive and kills him. Upon being released this news sets her on a crash course for revenge to find the man who betrayed her.

 Braveheart (1995):

There’s no doubt on the critical acclaim that follows this classic action tale. Mel Gibson stars as William Wallace, the 13th century Scottish hero who, after witnessing a tragedy at the hands of English soldiers, resolves to rebel against their cruel monarchy. Rallying together a motley crew of warriors, William fights to prove that sometimes underdogs do come out on top. With a run time of nearly three hours, you might want to clear your schedule for this one.

Shanghai Knights (2003):

Join Chon Wong (Jackie Chan) and Ray O’Bannon (Owen Wilson) on a wild 19th century adventure. When Chinese rebels murder Chon’s father, the pair set off to avenge him. The path ultimately leads them to the thriving city of London, and during their stay they uncover a worldwide conspiracy with a sinister agenda. Will anyone believe them before it’s too late? Check out this action comedy if you want to find out.
